GWG Looking at Independent Publisher 2 from WordPress.com. A lot of the backported improvements I did match theirs.

GWG It's a sign I am on the right track if professional theme developers had the same thought

GWG I am just wondering if I am better off stripping some things out and using the simpler wp.com version of those features and building anything people want back in later

GWG Well, do people need to be able to set any color scheme or just a few presets and anything else is a child theme or custom css?

jeremycherfas For me, a couple of choice presets (light, dark?) and then child theme. Maybe once WP and IndieWeb is follproof functional people will want all the bells and whistles there are, but for now my feeling is that they will need to be technically savvy enough, and so will be able to handle a child theme.
