hey GWG, can I ask you about the syndication links issue I opened regarding the response property url? I’m curious to figure out what the actual problem is
#
GWG
Syndication Links uses webmention based POSSE, so Bridgy comes back and reads the markup of the page
#
GWG
Which means it isn't a Syndication Links issue
#
[asuh]
When I POSSE a new post to Twitter, the only URL that Twitter inherits is the post permalink. Where should I be looking to make a change and allow this data to append the response property url at the bottom below the post permalink?
#
GWG
[asuh]: Do you have the Bridgy logs?
#
[asuh]
Possibly, I don’t know
#
[asuh]
where do I look?
#
GWG
Your Bridgy user page
#
[asuh]
ok yes, i see the user page now
#
GWG
Got a link to the log?
#
[asuh]
The result of this for Twitter was to take the excerpt of my post and attach the post permalink. Sometimes, I’d prefer the response property url, in this case it is https://getkap.co, to appear at the bottom, below the post permalink.
#
[asuh]
Right now, as is expected, it links only to the post permalink at the bottom
#
GWG
I don't think Bridgy supports bookmark-of
#
[asuh]
gotcha, so this is currently a Bridgy issue. The bookmark Post Kind reminds me of what I’ve done with Delicious and Pinboard so I like it, but I also guess it wouldn’t syndicate this bookmark to those kinds of bookmarking services
#
GWG
[asuh]: I had an idea to build that.
#
GWG
Syndication Links is just a UI
#
GWG
The idea was it could link into other plugins.
#
[asuh]
i don’t use Pinboard as much as I used to but it’s kind of nice to think I could have this capability built into WordPress or something else locally

[asuh]: I wanted to import from Pinboard.
#
GWG
I have a lot of stuff in there
#
[asuh]
oh yes, that would be good for me too. i have a lot of old ones from Delicious, however, that probably don’t work any longer

I just don't have the bookmark support I want in the plugin

I think I could start syncing both directions to Pinboard, but its complicated
#
[asuh]
i’m sure it is. it’s a nice feature to have but it can be defered

I have a few things I need to do before that, but would like it
#
GWG
Like icons
#
GWG
I also had to rebuild my dev server before the bill showed up
#
[asuh]
I’ve slowly been trying to get a MVP Indieweb WordPress theme, making sure I’ve integrated what I can into the theme I’m on as a good base for other theme development on other sites or apps. So that’s where my mind is in asking for these types of things. Seamless experience when syndicating, looking good for all the different kinds, no big surprises
#
GWG
I look forward to seeing it
#
GWG
Sorry for the delay, phone rang

[asuh] you can tell bridgy explicitly what exactly to post to twitter through a special mf2 property, you possibly could generate that in the format you want through your template or so

[asuh]
[sknebel] yes, that makes sense. but the response property url that I was referring to, I believe, is built into Post Kinds plugin. I could replicate that with the theme template but it seems like it would be better done through the plugin
