#[Jeannie]Just an update. I had to hose my site and remove/re-add my domain to my host because there were issues with the DNS. (It was a software issue with cPanel that they've resolved). But in rebuilding my site I tried the yarns microsub plug-in again(aperture still didn't work). So I've got the yarns microsub plug-in up and running on my site now and it it's working just fine so now I can utilize that. Thank you GWG for pointing me towards tha

#[jackjamieson][Jeannie] yay! I’m glad Yarns is working fine. Let me know how it goes!
#[Michael_Beckwitooh thanks for the link [aaronpk]
#[Michael_Beckwiti’m in need of writing up a blog post about what various ways I’ve indiewebified myself and taken back my data
#[Michael_Beckwitmostly my own link shortener, matemo for analytics, self hosted, and now adding webmentions to my site
#[Michael_Beckwitas well as areas I’d like to move to where possible
#GWGGot the start of a WordPress site health check for IndieAuth added.

#nellkate1[m]Thank you so much for the video! Just finished watching it (I chickened out last weekend). It was very helpful.
#[grantcodes][kimberlyhirsh] for Gutenberg development you need at least base WordPress development knowledge (hooks, filters etc). And the editor is react based so you'd probably want to understand that of you want to build custom blocks
#[grantcodes]I can see mf2 html working very well with Gutenberg blocks, but mapping that to micropub as well would probably be hard
#[kimberlyhirsh]I am starting from a place of having a better understanding of HTML & CSS than many people, but virtually no understanding of JS & PHP. I want to be able to develop for WP both to scratch my own itches and pave the way for non-developers to join the IndieWeb.
#[kimberlyhirsh]My goal is that when I hit a pain point, I will be able to think about how to fix it rather than just complaining. And my first pain point is definitely dissatisfaction with themes.

#[jackjamieson]GWG I’m still on the west coast so can be a faux night owl. Mostly visiting family and I’ve barely touched my computer this week. Back to normal next week and I’ll be back at some Yarns stuff then 🙂
#[jackjamieson]I’d love to learn more about Gutenberg compatibility, but for my own use I’m pretty content with the classic editor. Does seem like an important consideration for onboarding though
#[grantcodes]nellkate1 - that message is saying that on those services you link to, there is not a link back to nelkat.net

#[grantcodes]In practice it's not very impotant unless you want to do something with authentication like logging and bridgy might require it.
#nellkate1[m]Thank you so much. I tried putting a link to nelkate.net on the other services but got it wrong somehow. If it not very important in practice then I will stop fretting. Does it have anything to do with setting up automatic syndication/cross-posting?
#[grantcodes]I think you will need to set it up for services you want to post to via bridgy
#nellkate1[m]Oh, dear. Well, it would explain why bridgy keeps hunting valiently for things and not finding them.
#[grantcodes]What are you using bridgy for? Twitter?
#nellkate1[m]I have a Flickr account (no Twitter, Github or Mastodon). I had one of my wordpress.com sites on Bridgy as well but think I may have accidentally erased it. Would I have to add each siloed blog to bridgy?
#[grantcodes]Hmm I don't really know much about how that works I'm afraid 😬 snarfed is the one true source of bridgy knowledge
#nellkate1[m]You've helped me a lot! I really appreciate it. I will try and tackle it from the bridgy end and see what happens. Keeps me busy on a hot afternoon. 🙂
