aaronpk well, didn't solve it, but identified the problem

aaronpk for some reason david's dreamhost server isn't passing through the authorization header even though we tried 3 different variations of htaccess rules, all of which work fine on my dreamhost server

[grantcodes] Total Guess but I could imagine hosting providers shutting down headers if you do a one click wordpress site, Vs it being more open if you just set up a generic lamp app and install wp yourself?

GWG I know we tried to figure out what Dreamhost was doing

aaronpk [grantcodes]: the problem is we can't find a setting for it

aaronpk he opened a support ticket with a simple example outside of wordpress that shows they're stripping the header, so we'll see what comes of that

GWG I really wish that didn't keep coming up on various hosts
