chrisaldrich, [Michael_Beckwit, he also submitted a PR to webmentions, although I am proposing an alternative solution. But he figured out a problem we had

Tried simple_local_avatars. Doesn't work for me. at least not with Sempress but I don't think it's the theme. It just hooks in with `pre_get_avatar_data` for the microformats but the image src returned from WordPress for the author profile is still gravatar again *sigh*. It's gone when I deselect "show avatar" in the H-Card Widget (removes photo from microformats as well). Kinda at a loss where this is coming

beko[m]: I think it would require changes to play nice

I proposed one

That's not the avatar_privacy plugin GWG - it's the alternative simple_local_avatars.

beko[m]: I know. I proposed changes there too

GWG: I found the positions in h-card.php and author.php and hardcoded my avatar in both places for now if "show avatar" is _disabled_. Single user blog so I don't have to care about ID. No gravatar url added any more from that and comment avatars seem to work fine. This way I can enable it later again when this is "fixed" in any of the suggested plugins 🙂

Okay. If not, maybe I'll hack something together

👍ī¸ hope the PRs get accepted. I'd prefer a clean solution. Can't recommend it this way (and I think my indiefy counter is now at ~10 blogs) ☚ī¸Ž
