Anyone made the switch to ClassicPress

I've considered it, but there are some backports I'd want them to do

Fair enough.

I'm waiting for a full backup to finish, just in case, and then I will give it a go. But at this rate, not until tomorrow.

I've been meaning to update my test installation to try out all the plugins and see what I might have to adjust

[jeremycherfas] is there anything that you have come across that has been particularly persuasive about using ClassicPress vs WordPress? I'm barely familiar with the issues related to the Gutenberg Editor.

I see not benefits for my site to the use of blocks. Classic Editor won't last forever. And I don't really want to migrate to a completely different CMS. So ClassicPress seems my best option.

Thank you. That makes sense. I'm sure that there is more for me to read related to this.

Most of the stuff I'm thinking of that I'd lose in ClassicPress are little things that went into WordPress after 4.9 when they forked that have nothing to do with blocks.

I doubt that I would run into trouble with that kind of issue.

So assumption is that ClassicPress usefulness outlives Classic Editor usefulness?

depends on who wants to maintain them longest term

That is certainly my working assumption.
