Mentions, because they have no markup, just show up as Facepiles. Although I hoped in the next version, to offer multiple options...if we ever get 5.X released so I can experiment with that

In the webmentions settings page, uncheck Automatically Embed Facepiles for Mention, and they'll look like comments
