[pfefferle]
[chrisbergr] want to file a PR?
#
[chrisbergr]
[pfefferle] If we want to integrate this into the webmention plugin, I would have to bring the whole thing properly into your structure. And blow up your package.json a lot ๐Ÿ™‚

[chrisbergr]
GWG: I'm open to chat, but since we're in different time zones again, we'll have to meet again first

If I don't fall into bed early I should be araound in 14 hrs and have some time ๐Ÿ™‚

So @gwg I still havenโ€™t gotten my map to work. I see your website and the maps appears in your posts. I am going to try the Google Static Map API. My first suggestion is going to be to have step by step instructions with screenshots for us slower to be able to implement people. If I can make it work, I will provide them. ๐Ÿ˜„
#
GWG
Have to figure out where the screenshots would go
#
[TMichelleMoore]
Could they go in the Wordpress plugin screenshot area? Or maybe on GitHub in an info area?
#
[TMichelleMoore]
OR a page on your website.
#
[chrisbergr]
[TMichelleMoore] Strange that everything works except the output of the map. Are you using any plugin for caching? Or server-side via e.g. nginx?
#
[TMichelleMoore]
[chrisbergr] Yes. Litespeed, a default from my hosting company. I am not sure that everything works. Possiblyโ€ฆI think it did what it was supposed to do when I added the name of the place. I think. ๐Ÿ˜Š
#
[TMichelleMoore]
[chrisbergr] Do you think I should look for an option to exclude the locations plugin in the caching settings?
#
[chrisbergr]
[TMichelleMoore] I do not know for sure. Often the problems I encountered were triggered by various caching tools. Maybe you can disable it completely temporarily to ensure that it's not that?
#
[TMichelleMoore]
I will try! Thank you!
#

Makes me want if I should do my own map generation coding
#
[chrisbergr]
That sounds like a full-time job
#
[chrisbergr]
I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean ๐Ÿ™‚
#
[chrisbergr]
I thought you were already using your own static map provider thing
#
GWG
[chrisbergr]: I am, I could do that in the Simple Location code.
#
[chrisbergr]
So we all could participate from it without the need of a third party provider?
#
GWG
In theory. It's just another job to do, I suppose
