[buddygoodboyes] I was hoping I could get some help with a technical issue I’ve been having! I’m not sure if the problem is between the keyboard and chair.

[buddygoodboyes] I’ve been trying to use the IndieWeb plugin to syndicate posts from my personal blog to Bluesky and Mastodon, but something might not be configured right. The syndicated posts only post the featured image and excerpt, with no hyperlink back to the blog post. Any idea where I can start with this?

GWG [buddygoodboyes]: The Indieweb plugin doesn't do syndication by itself. What are you using for syndication?

[buddygoodboyes] @GWG I have the Wordpress plugins Indieweb, Post Kinds, Syndication Links, and Webmention, and I’m using http://Brid.gy for syndication.

GWG Syndication Links handles the presentation elements to Bridgy

GWG There is a setting about always including the linkback I believe

[buddygoodboyes] Sure thing. Is there documentation somewhere on the “Post Kinds” plugin that lets you preview what a syndicated post would look like? Obviously I’d love to get people visiting my site directly, but some folks will never click that link, and I want them to be able to see something at least. Thanks!

GWG [buddygoodboyes]: It is an idea I've had... but I'm often surprised about how it renders and I thought I understood it.

[buddygoodboyes] It looks to me like leaving the post kind as “Article” and the Format as “Standard” will generally keep things simple, but maybe I’ll play around with it some and see what comes up. Thanks!
