Xander The drama seems to be that Matt is upset at WP-Engine because he perceives them as using the wordpress trademark, making money from wordpress but not actually contributing anything to the project. I don't think he cares if you're self hosting or with a different host that contributes to the project ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
