[pfefferle] The bio issue is my fault: in 5.1.0 I moved HCard_User to Indieweb\Hcard\User and did not keep the old class name. iw26 checks class_exists( 'HCard_User' ), so it falls back to template-parts/biography.php, and that one is empty on the front page because it runs outside the loop.

[pfefferle] The widget code did not change, so I am not sure what happens there. What exactly did not work? Is the widget missing from the list, is it empty on the front page, or does it show the name but no bio? On the front page it only shows up if "Single Author Site" is enabled.

[pfefferle] I opened a PR that adds the old class name back as an alias, so your theme should work again without changes: https://github.com/indieweb/wordpress-indieweb/pull/321 (I added you as reviewer). If you want to switch anyway, it is \Indieweb\Hcard\User::hcard() now.

GWG [pfefferle]: I'll look and try to propose a fix.. I'm on vacation this week except for today and tomorrow due teaching a class, but need to finish my server migration because tomorrow is the first of the month and I don't want to pay for an extra vps.
