gazoomboHow does indieweb compare to other groups (i.e. Lorea, Diaspora, Appleseed, ...) - are these all examples of the types of projects indieweb would like to foster, or is there a different angle involved?
tantekprobably the biggest "different angle" of IndieWeb is - people who are actually running stuff on their own sites to publish their content on their own domains.
gazoomboLorea is a project to extend Elgg into a social node in same the vein as these other projects, but with perhaps more emphasis on practicality (preferring PHP/LAMP over newfangled rails for example) - http://lorea.org/
gazoomboSo the vision is more to start with getting content syndication flowing the right way (from personal site out to other networks) before worrying about federation between nodes, etc.?
gazoombothe DiSo project was focused on extending existing platforms for a while, and I thought that was a good choice. I know many people using WordPress for personal sites whether or not they're 'blogs'
