LauraJ tantek: well, from where i stand, mainstream is facebook :) HTML I think these days is probably techie :) (my interest is in seeing indieweb succeed which means tools in use by really *lots* of people, so my scale of mainstream vs techie may not match other people's :) and i agree it's a good thing to create a focussed event
