KartikPrabhu kylewm: found the bug! it is in the helper function https://github.com/kartikprabhu/mf2py/blob/master/mf2py/dom_helpers.py#L15 it turns out that check_name is allowed to be a string or list, and so it checks for 'a' in 'abbr' which is True! :|
