kylewm snarfed: on one hand, I like requiring the backlink in all cases, just for simplicity and consistency. on the other, honestly I think it would make me less likely to use Bridgy Publish long term because I don't want invisible links littering my posts. The ideal solution for me would let me run the oauth authorization, and then give me a bridgy access token that I can copy/paste and use to make publish requests in the future
