Mainstream culture is accepting, for example, their car as something not to be hacked, their phones not to be rooted, etc. No, that kind of hacker, the modifier one, is being swallowed and forgotten; however, as it's mentioned in there as well, society is facing towards solutionism more and more, which can be seen as an aspect of hacking.
