#LoqiUS Indiewebbers - My partner and I are three weeks away from a big adventure travelling down the west coast by train. We are staying in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, LA, Yosemite and Las Vegas. I was wondering if you have any recommendations for ...
#[chrisaldrich]I'm just admiring the class names in the divs on the CV at noahstokes.com that kevinmarks highlighted above. ROTFL
#[chrisaldrich]j4y_funabashi, You might also try Caterina Fake's https://findery.com/ which may not have as much data as foursquare/swarm, but when it does it's usually very rich.
#[chrisaldrich]kevinmarks, how are things across the pond? settling in?
#snarfedwhat's that quote about free speech? i may disagree with what you say, but i'll defend to my death your right to say it? https://brid.gy/twitter/glsfour

#tanteksnarfed, it was bound to happen. do you have a ToS or CoC for Bridgy?

#snarfedtantek: good q. not yet, largely because there's so little users can do. notably, they can't post any content or interact with other users.
#tantekas bridgy does host the synthetic webmention, that's "posting content" of a sort
#snarfedeh, that's a stretch. the content is posted on a silo. bridgy just renders it transiently.
#[chrisaldrich]schmarty Hrm... tried testing Screech with known, uploaded a 13min test file and got "Internal Server Error: The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Either the server is overloaded or there is an error in the application."
#[chrisaldrich]It looks like it uploaded completely before it threw the error. I like the fact that it scrapes the metadata off of the file automatically. ?

#martymcguire[m][chrisaldrich]: thanks for testing it! i expected horrible errors on the first public deployment and did not disappoint. :}
#martymcguire[m]gRegorLove: thanks! CC0 vector art is awesome

#martymcguire[m][chrisaldrich]: i found (at least) one bug - i had a typo checking HTTP response codes from micropub endpoints. if you try again it will likely fail in a new way.
#martymcguire[m]oof, sorry for the dev talk in here, folks. didn't realize which room i was in.

#LoqiJust generated this week's newsletter! You still have a few minutes to make changes, and I'll re-generate it 10 minutes before it gets sent out at 3pm Pacific time. https://indieweb.org/this-week/2017-03-17.html

#[chrisaldrich]martymcguire[m] thanks, I saw your replies via github. I thought it might be an upload size issue which I'd run into before (and thus the reason I only tried a short <15minute clip.
#[chrisaldrich]I didn't expect it to be an audio specific issue. If I have time tonight, I'll try it out with my wordpress install to see if there are any issues there.
#[eddie]Great, glad to know I understood that right. It’s a bit of a mental shift for me, but I often think of just tweet-type note replies, rather than commentary type replies. Working on adding a similar type post to my site so I wanted to make sure I was taking the right approach ? Thanks for verifying!
#tantekeddie, do you mean his home page is a list AKA a stream AKA a feed?
#tantekand he mostly comments on other stuff instead of writing his own posts? yes that's what I remember of Gruber as well
#tantekreplies can be interesting for sure, many examples. you can have tweet type "note" replies, you can also have longer reply "articles" with their own article name/title etc.
#[eddie]Yeah, exactly. Common terminology among that crowd is to call websites that primarily comment on other links for the majority of their “feed” as “Linked Lists”, because they are primarily a “List” or “Feed” of “Links” or in our world “Replies”.
#[eddie]Interesting, Yeah, I think re-orienting my mind to the way replies work will take a little bit, but seems cool ?
#tantekit's basically a breaking of the assumption that replies must happen on the same site as the original
