aaronpki was thinking about what I'd want out of an "on this day" feature for my site. I have *so many* posts every day, so I was thinking maybe showing just the one that has the most replies or likes.
[eddie]I like the some of the logic ideas around "most replied to", etc. there could also be some logic around "photo post" or "photo checkin" would be higher priority than "regular checkin" or "regular post"
Loqifollow is a common button in silo UIs (like Twitter) that adds updates from that profile (typically a person) to the stream shown in an integrated reader, and sometimes creates a follow post either in the follower's stream ("… followed …" or "… is following …") thus visible to their followers, and/or in the notifications of the user being followed ("… followed you") https://indieweb.org/following
LoqiA reply context is the display of what a reply post is in reply to, including linking to that original post with in-reply-to markup, showing some amount of that original post like author name, icon, summary / ellipsed content, and datetime published https://indieweb.org/reply-context
[eli_oat]I'm going to have to spend the weekend working on work-work, though, because all of this tinkering cut into the time in the evenings i usually set aside for getting the technical, non-meeting bits of my job done! ?
Kopfstein, gucci_meow, friedcell, barpthewire, wolftune and jeremycherfas joined the channel
aaronpkin Nürnberg I had shown my month archive pages at one point, and was missing the feature from my previous site where it shows the list of cities my posts that day were from. so I just restored that feature on my new site! \o/ https://aaronparecki.com/2016/05
[jeremycherfas]Not sure what you mean gregorlove I read the post from eli_oat on micro blog, and so I knew he'd done something. Then I came here and as I caught up on the channel saw the back and forth.
gRegorLove[jeremycherfas]: I mean the display of most recent at top. It's not unclear, just usually see [item being replied to] with replies listed chronologically under it.
[jeremycherfas]Ah. Ok gregorlove I think when you swipe to see the conversation it is centered on the post you swipe from. It all takes getting used to.
LoqiJust generated this week's newsletter! You still have a few minutes to make changes, and I'll re-generate it 10 minutes before it gets sent out at 3pm Pacific time. https://indieweb.org/this-week/2017-05-26.html
