Zegnat jgmac1106, exactly. But sometimes the webmention may be so your CMS can display a notification that you got tagged in a photo I uploaded. And other times the webmention lets you know I am sending you a private message. Because, as petermolnar put it, “a webmention is a poke”. It does not itself imply anything about its purpose.
