interesting article with big UX design implications: https://www.fastcodesign.com/90177381/want-to-understand-experience-design-eat-popcorn-with-chopsticks I think there's a bunch here we could utilize for more compelling indieweb experiences (as compared to boring silo experiences)

might also explain a motivation for silos to change their UIs like every 6 months

tantek regarding GitHub label: when someone files issues on Indigenous I’ll tag it bug or enhancement based on the request. I’ll mark it as needs investigating. Finally I’ll mark it as ready for next release until I release the next build of Indigenous, after which I close all the “next release tagged issues”

[eddie] should those of us who were on TestFlight switch over primarily to the App Store version?
#
[cleverdevil]
Or is it better to stay on the TestFlight?
wolftune joined the channel
#
[eddie]
Hehe, funny you ask, [cleverdevil]. This weekend I ended up submitting 1.0.2 to the App Store only and not TestFlight as I was worried adding it to TestFlight as well might slow it down and I wanted to get 1.0.2 out ASAP due to a bug with micro.blog IndieAuth
#
[eddie]
But I’m not 100% sure
#
[cleverdevil]
I just want to be sure that I am helping!
#
@xolotl
↩️ A practical #indieweb approach I’m thinking of might be to use @hypothes_is as an annotation authoring engine (so you don’t have to recreate anchoring machinery), but on save write to your own site, prob as individual posts just like other microformat types. 1/
(twitter.com/_/status/1013850907279163392)
#
[eddie]
I need to put 1.0.2 into TestFlight and then they should match up. If you want to stay using TestFlight that will probably be helpful as I’ll probably push that through a little before public release in the future just to catch any crazy bugs 🙂
#
[eddie]
I’ll probably pause development for a bit after my son is born, so i’ll send out an FYI at that point for everyone to move to the App Store version until the development picks up again

#
[cleverdevil]
OK, I will stick with TestFlight, then.
#
@xolotl
↩️ In this scenario, you would do all that with the posts on your site, just like with any other microformat posts you own/control. #IndieWeb
(twitter.com/_/status/1013854600896450560)
#
@xolotl
↩️ Every annotation has a unique URL. Everything else seems to depend a bit on how #IndieWeb you want to be ;)
(twitter.com/_/status/1013855863969378304)
#
@wiobyrne
↩️ Also, the main link back to the source will already be on the page as a bookmark using the #indieweb tools. A @hypothes_is user could open up the tools to see other annotations, or readers could just review the source as they see fit.
(twitter.com/_/status/1013855914825273345)
#
@wiobyrne
↩️ Agreed. I think I can embed or provide link previews on hover from the unique URL. I would prefer to have that annotated text in the body of the post as easily/seamlessly as possible. #IndieWeb seems to provide that magic sauce that makes it work well, and seem simple. :)

Hmm, still not getting indiebookclub to post to my site. It’s just getting an “unauthorized” from my endpoint apparently. The site made me log in again today and I now appear to have two tokens issued - but the one yesterday didn’t work either. Is this WordPress being annoying, or me being think. (I did actually get Quill to post yesterday, so something is working).
#

[Vanessa], I think that's something with the WordPress IndieAuth plugin
#

↩️ IIU the #indieweb model correctly, the path would be to have your annotations collected on your own site as individual posts, then you could use your regular site tools to re-present them however you wish.
(twitter.com/_/status/1013858218932559872)
#
@xolotl
↩️ For WordPress, my ideal would be something like https://wordpress.org/plugins/zotpress/ for @hypothes_is, where one could use flexible WP shortcodes to pull from the @hypothes_is API as needed. But that’s not #IndieWeb pure ;)
(twitter.com/_/status/1013858592401702912)
#
[Vanessa]
Thanks. At least it’s not me! I have issues with Quill and Omnibear too, although Quill did randomly work yesterday. Shame, cos I really want to use Indiebookclub - I am, just without it posting to my site 😞 One day…
#
@wiobyrne
↩️ In a "bookmark" or "reply" post, you could mark up with @hypothes_is, then on #IndieWeb site, link to source, and pull over annotations, add context (if needed), share. But...this would just be for the links & social share. Longer posts, I would in-text cite, or perhaps embed.
