@hempfacts
@jimmy_dore @joerogan The whole deplatforming fiasco is exactly why the taxpayer-created internet was designed as an open-access substrate for diverse protocols, decentralized, peer-to-peer production. Enquiring minds should reach out to @indiewebcamp https://youtu.be/k3YcGRCGEuY

↩️ There's also @withknown & @WordPress which also have webmention support for site-to-site communication in addition to all the other #IndieWeb tech @keithjgrant mentioned. Next we just need the microsub solution widely distributed https://aaronparecki.com/2018/03/12/17/building-an-indieweb-reader

@CharlieRoseMari Hi! I'm assembling the weekly @IndieWeb recap podcast and saw your new http://indieweb.org user page. Welcome! I usually have a one-line welcome for new folks, but your website is error'd at the moment. May I use your Twitter bio?

↩️ Perhaps https://indieweb.org/silo-quits will provide ideas? You could also try a POSSE strategy to stay in touch as you wean yourself away from silos as well: https://indieweb.org/POSSE Having read the Webmention article, I suspect you know my stance there.

hello everyone, I have been trying to figure out POSSEing for a while, but I am unable to fix it. I have set up posting to twitter from a wordpress site via brid.gy. However, all my tweets somehow has my profile pic attached to it (the bridgy preview also shows the same). What could I be doing wrong? Thanks! This is how my tweets look: https://twitter.com/ckrtesttest

↩️ I’ll be sticking with the IndieWeb and be looking at how to bridge that and Mastodon - there are tools for that and I much prefer to own my own presence online then to just rely on a less centralized version of Twitter. Enables much more plurality in the space

dgold, when do you choose to not post to your own site but to Mastodon instead?
#
Zegnat
(I think that question fits here better than in #dev)
#
dgold
Zegnat: I've just been feeling my way in Mastodon the past few days
#
dgold
I did sign up to an instance before, but never gave it much attention
#
dgold
but - I've been rewriting and extending parts of nanopub today to enable me to (e.g.) POSSE to mastodon with links re-rendered appropriately
#
Zegnat
Ah. So you would still end up using your website as main place you post to?
#
Zegnat
I guess that’s my main question: why would anyone from the IndieWeb create an account on mastodon today, when we are constantly getting closer to talking with mastodon directly from our sites.
#
dgold
most of today has been playing with the various php libraries in https://github.com/tootsuite/documentation/blob/master/Using-the-API/Libraries.md
#
dgold
ok - I guess the answer to that is: I want to see what it is that people "see" in Mastodon - the other voices/other views stuff

@zegnat bc of [pfefferle] plugin I have [jgmac1106]@jgregorymcverry.com on the Fediverse but I autosyndicate to mastodon.social
#
dgold
[jgmac1106]: mastodon.social is... well, its not good (strictly imo)
#
[jgmac1106]
I might move to scholar.social as that is morey affinity group.... But the more you use an instance the more you get locked down by relationshipa you have there. I don't want 13 different Mastodon accounts
#
dgold
i follow people now from a multiplicity of instances
#
dgold
madly - mostly genderfluid/genderqueer people who fled from twitter last week
#
[jgmac1106]
Yes I follow from multiple instances... Just trying to figure out how to negotiate which should be my primary instance. Migration or just doing it from my own domain..
#
[jgmac1106]
Once I build my feeds back up though I will go back to rss being my primary way of talking to friends
