#jackywhat's a good way to represent an "archive" link for a page?
#jackySomething like canonical or permalink but for archive purposes
#jackyI'm asking because I'd want to have some pages auto-"submit" themselves to the Internet Archive in the event of an outage; change of domain or the like

#JookiaHello o/ Indieweb looks cool, what software actually uses it? Or is it more of a pattern?
#[tantek]Jookia - there's a bunch of software that supports IndieWeb building blocks! What's your website?
#Jookia[tantek]: Eh, I don't have one yet but I want to implement it for my real life business site since I'm trying to cross-post between Facebook, my webiste and Mastodon
#[tantek]other way around, indieweb is likely the best way to make that happen
#[tantek]it's best to start with a personal site you can experiment with, get stuff working, then you can deploy a similar strategy for a real life business site
#[tantek]Jookia, yes! Protocol building blocks, depending on what you your use-cases are. And yes, you could implement them all, or assemble libraries and/or services that implement them as needed. Or a mix of both. Happy to talk more details about that in the # indieweb-dev channel!

#petermolnar!tell [kevinmarks] re usenet: I've been saying for years that webmentions, in essence, are email; I did not make the connection between microsub and usenet, but there is. Rejoice, the early 80s are back!

#[alexbayleaf]hi folks. sorry for only popping in here when i have questions. today's question is: is there any way to filter webmentions coming from bridgy to wordpress, eg. to pre-emptively block twitter users or filter by keyword? can they be moderated?
#petermolnar[alexbayleaf]: not in bridgy, it's just a forwarder. I'm fairly certain wordpress plugins exist for comment filtering, and that should apply for webmentions as well
#[alexbayleaf]i didn't realise they showed up as comments.

#[kevinmarks]Ask in #WordPress for more information, but the webmention plugin makes them comments with a tag I think

#[davidmead]!tell snarfed Why does Brid.gy need a different URLs to be in the Instagram profile since I moved to Known? OwnYourGram is ok with the root domain, but Brid.gy wants the profile page?
#sknebel[davidmead]: bridgy needs the page with the rel-me links to verify
#sknebelif you have them on the root, that should work too
#[davidmead]!tell tantek Ran into a whole series of “issues” setting up Known and trying to move from Wordpress. I’ll write them up and post it as it’s been interesting seeing where disconnects arise
#aaronpkI completely disassembled my office this morning so I won't be able to look until tomorrow
#Loqiaaronpk: [tantek] left you a message 21 hours, 47 minutes ago: would you mind if we generalized https://indieweb.org/100DaysOfIndieWeb to be about 100 Days IndieWeb projects in general? E.g. a 100 Days project you do (and post about) using your own site, more general than ship something IndieWeb-related. I'm hoping to list proven 100 day projects (i.e. those that people have completed) at the top as suggestion for people to try, then link to brainstorming for more ideas if they're feeling bold an
#aaronpkfine with me to redefine 100 days of indieweb! I don't plan on doing another version the same as before anyway

#[adamprocter]Hi, wanted to share my link here as I am trying to build an indie web related tool, comments welcome, (if you create an account you can comment and highlight on the document.)
#Jookiait would require multiple users on a website so i somewhat doubt it

#Jookia[tantek]: oops i forgot to switch channels :P
#[tantek][davidmead] thanks - that would help a lot - I'm sure the Known folks would appreciate your write-up!
#[tantek][adamprocter] pretty sure Slack thread replies don't make it to IRC, and when you see "APP" next to someone's name, that means they're coming from IRC.
#sknebelthreaded slack replies make it to IRC, but the context what they replied to is lost
#[tantek]well that's good at least that they're bridged
#[adamprocter]apologies for the crazy URL, i have not yet worked out how manifold makes the URLs from ingested text a short version is the top level https://manifold.soton.ac.uk for now and happy for people to share as they see fit
#todrobbins[adamprocter]: are you already a member of the Manifold Slack?
#[adamprocter]@todrobbins yes I am 🙂 they have been super helpful
#todrobbinsgreat! just checking in since I’m in that group (mostly a lurker)
