If you keep the red, the text on it needs better contrast.
#
[jgmac1106]
thx I am totally guessing when it comes to colors

Good morning IndieWeb

ok, I added "https://clrs.cc/a11y/" to the "See Also" section of /accessibility https://indieweb.org/wiki/index.php?diff=59125&oldid=58613

Does anyone who uses microsub know of a way to "mark all as read"? I've got my own Aperture/Watchtower install, and I'm using Moncle
[grantcodes] joined the channel
#
[grantcodes]
[Rose] mark all in a channel as read is part of the spec, but not mark *everything* as read
#
[grantcodes]
But it is up to clients what they use / expose in the ui
#
[Rose]
I want to mark channels as read, that's ok!
#
[grantcodes]
It might just not be built into monocle, together has a button for it
#
[Rose]
Unfortunately I'm not seeing it in Monocle, and Indigenous is struggling to sync
#
[Rose]
Aha, that sounds good
#
Zegnat
Maybe ek has a method for it? That should be easy enough to run
#
Zegnat
What is ek?
#
Loqi
It looks like we don't have a page for "ek" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "ek is ____", a sentence describing the term)
#
Zegnat
What is ekster?
#
Loqi
Ekster is a Microsub server written in Go https://indieweb.org/Ekster
#
[Rose]
Together is not letting me login
ingoogni joined the channel
#
[grantcodes]
Hmm looks like it's not parsing your site for some reason [Rose] It doesn't handle redirects very well, so it could be that
#
[Rose]
Well, I'm using the recommended IndieWeb plugins, but it's possible I changed something that shouldn't have been changed
#
Zegnat
What is together?
#
Loqi
Together is a reader that was initially conceived at the 2017 IndieWeb Summit in Portland by Jonathan LaCour and several others during the Putting it all together session https://indieweb.org/together
#
[grantcodes]
Hmm, probably not your fault, I'll have a look

[Rose]: I haven't added it to Monocle because I haven't figured out a good UI for it. Suggestions welcome!
#
swentel
It took me a while to get that right in indigenous too
#
[grantcodes]
swentel: do items get marked as read on scroll in indigenous now?
#
swentel
[grantcodes], not yet, I've been trying to get that in, but it's very tricky
#
swentel
[grantcodes], there are two options now: either mark all as read per page (so, in case 30 unread, first 20 will be unread when clicking on channel, clicking 'next' does the rest - there' also a mark all read button then)
#
swentel
do nothing and have 'mark all read' globally (using last_read_id) and/or mark read per item
#
swentel
I'd love to get scrolling in though, would be nice
#
[grantcodes]
Ah ok, makes sense 🙂
#
[Rose]
[aaronpk] I'll look into options!

Morning Jacky. Meant to tell ya. You got the best compliment about your web design at IWC New Haven, "See that's what I want. I want to meet him. His website makes him seem interesting. I need mine to do that

also, can I tag someone chatting via the app? I assume that is the IRC connector.
#
Zegnat
I don’t think you can tag people who aren’t on Slack specifically.
#
Zegnat
Just write out their IRC names and assume their clients will notify them
#
jacky
they'd have to know those names first ;)
#
jacky
if you wanna find them, peep /chatnames
#
jacky
what is chatnames
#
Loqi
Chat names is a list of chat regulars sorted by nickname, with their website and usual timezone(s) https://indieweb.org/chatnames
#
Zegnat
I’d assume the IRC bridge uses the IRC name as the name on Slack

hello, how can i join the indieweb ring? is it open to anyone? aka listed here https://xn--sr8hvo.ws/directory
ingoogni and [schmarty] joined the channel
#
[schmarty]
hi bronzehedwick. there aren't very many instructions, but i am happy to help out as i can.
#
[schmarty]
the first step is to sign in at https://xn--sr8hvo.ws/. you'll need your own domain with some extra information on your homepage to do web sign-in. you can find more info at https://indiewebify.me/ if you need to set that part up.
#
[schmarty]
once signed in, you'll be issued a pair of links to put on your homepage, to help folks continue navigating the ring when they arrive on your page.

thanks @[schmarty], appreciate the help! i do have my domain setup and was able to login via indieauth. i'll add those web ring links when i get home!
#
[schmarty]
bronzehedwick: great! that should pretty much be all the steps. if you want to make sure you show up in the directory, the dashboard shows the info it found on your homepage and has buttons to remove or refresh it.
#
bronzehedwick
perfect, thanks again!

Twitter is giving Sadik such a hard time trying to register an app to use Bridgy. Wonder if being from Ghana causing extra scrutiny
