hey hang, I didn’t think to ask yesterday - were the streaming videos recorded or captured anywhere?

oops! I meant ‘gang’

Zegnat
[Chris_Adams]: I think the sessions that had GWG's Chromebook I'm the room may have gotten streamed from there (YouTube would have archives). The introductions were captured by a secondary camera from [Yulia] so I think that will be ported to the YouTube channel also.
#
Loqi
Zegnat: [Rose] left you a message 17 hours, 18 minutes ago: We should use indiewebguides.org at Åmål if new people come
#
[Rose]
I think there may have been an issue with the introduction capture
#
Zegnat
Oh was there?!
#
[Rose]
I heard Yulia say something, but I can't be sure what - she and Tantek would be best positioned to say for sure.
#
[Rose]
Related to wikiying things, I want to move a lot of this over to my website I think: https://indieweb.org/User:Rosemaryorchard.com

[Rose] no, we haven’t arranged for streaming as yet. Any assistance is therefore welcome.
#
[Rose]
Noted! I was given an organiser box in Berlin to bring to Dusseldorf and Utrecht, it has things like sticky notes for session grids (reusable ones that stick with static), check lists, all sorts.
#
swentel
wouldn't it make more sense to organize around drupalcon amsterdam?
#
swentel
more people potentially involved then

I can help remotely with streaming
#
[Rose]
GWG++, thanks!

Right now, someone remote sets up the online session grid
#

Why not add the streaming links as events in the YouTube account and start there?

It looks like we don't have a page for "microlight" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "microlight is ____", a sentence describing the term)

I wonder whether my old Kodak Zi8 camera could be repurposed for streaming.

microlight is a blogging engine built on PHP, MySQL, and IndieWeb principles of POSSE. Currently in alpha microlight supports the following post types: note, article, photo, and video. Microlight is developed and maintained by Tom Gardiner.
#

Is there a link to a git repo for microlight?

Ooh, [eddie] has an empty repo for an app that would publishing healthkit data to MicroPub, what are other people doing with health data? I know that FitBit has an API
#
[Rose]
(Looking for what people do with data they have retrieved, not a discussion on how they get it per sae 😛)
#
sknebel
I was talking with Zegnat about that last night
#
sknebel
sure, could be collecting tons of (or tons more, in his case) data, but what would we do with it that'd actually have an impact
#
sknebel
(collecting GPS logs for trips just in case I come up with a use later)
#
[Rose]
Well, having the data so you can do stuff with it is definitely a start.
#
[Rose]
I'm tracking all my travel already, just need to start publishing it. I'm hoping to steal some ideas from Aaron next week
nitot joined the channel
#
sknebel
right, but our point was more towards more data: worth the effort of collecting it if we can't even come up with a later use?
#
[Rose]
That's true, but if you come up with a use and have no data...
#
[jgmac1106]
Did the egg post type come before the chicken post type?
#
[jgmac1106]
but here is an interesting use case for future...my son gets all his baseball stats live (someone enters data and a video voice narrates the game for parents who can't go) nobody collecting ERA and WHIP data but I wanna save it somewhere somehow for him on his site....if I can get it out of course
#
[jgmac1106]
ooh looks like it may have schema...if I figure out how to download....was worried about the company and kids data: http://tech.gc.com/open-source/

Well, there are several apps on iOS which work with sleep data. And a few of those have export functions.

And on another topic, is anyone doing anything with tagmoji actively? https://help.micro.blog/2018/tagmoji/
#
[Rose]
I know it's a micro.blog thing, but I'm thinking of automatically adding some of these to certain posts. Maybe [eddie]'s Nintendo Switch play log will come in handy here.
#
jeremycherfas
!tell [Rose] ir is the raw data I want, to develop a personal measure of sleep quality. Garmin gives me deep, light and awake but I can't find a way to get that in machine-readable format.
#
Loqi
Ok, I'll tell them that when I see them next
#
[Zegnat]
I feel like aaronpk did clickable emoji tags? But maybe I am misremembering.
[jgmac1106] joined the channel
#
[jgmac1106]
I have never tried on Known but on microblog it always made me think...why isn't each post type just an emoji...
#
[Rose]
jgmac1106 That would be for privacy reasons. You can filter for tagmoji, but not for post kinds
#
[Rose]
At least, that's my obvious first thought
#
[jgmac1106]
ahh never thoguht about the privacy implications. Just makes for smart discovery on micro.blog
#
[Rose]
Discovery is great, if you're aware that you can be discovered.
#
[jgmac1106]
plus you get the added semiotic network effect of "being in the know" helps strenthen membership ties
#
[jgmac1106]
the dark side of membership it by definition is exclusionary

[Greg McVerry] #📺bad tv show the same as #watched bad tv show?

an interesting idea if an author notes that they turn comments off should I respect that and not send webmentions (just link from my site )...though I have all native comments off as spam protection so would be exception to my own rule
#
aaronpk
if the author turns off comments they should also turn off displaying and/or receiving webmentions with that
#
aaronpk
it's something on the receiver's end, not the sender's end
#
Zegnat
If they turn of comments, but still advertise a webmention endpoint: send the webmention, apparently they want to receive them
#
[eddie]
Yeah the sender shouldn’t have to worry about it. I can imagine making a post have private comments so I can receive them but not display them
#
[eddie]
And then for “no comments” and Zegnat said, I’d remove the endpoint

Hi folks! I left in a bit of a rush on Saturday, and I couldn't join the Berlin event on Sunday due to volunteering. Anyway, I just wanted to thank everyone for the amazing input and feedback. It was really inspiring and I especially loved [Yulia]'s keynote and [Zegnat]'s website easter egg. Also a huge thank you to everyone that took part in the session I suggested, I'm so glad to have gone through that conversation 🙂
