Looks good on the this-week newsletter. HWC attendance might spike if we used that...

H/T to Bastian and the Kirby team. Gave me free licenses for ALL my classes and one for my personal site since I do IndieWeb outreach and education.
#
[jgmac1106]
!tell sebsel, Zegnat theme developers get a free license so if you were working on an IndieWeb Kirby theme you can get one
#
Loqi
Ok, I'll tell them that when I see them next

hi, is there any example service which is indieauth-enabled? i have been working on enabling all pleroma instances to act as indieauth providers, but i need something to test against

for just login? https://indielogin.com is a good one to test with. also the indieweb wiki https://indieweb.org as well as https://telegraph.p3k.io

Wow [jgmac1106]! Bastian++
#
Loqi
Bastian has 1 karma over the last year
#
sknebel
kaniini: wow cool. Also, if there's any questions feel free to ping us
#
kaniini
what do you guys think about optional webfinger integration? :)
#
aaronpk
What's the use case?
#
kaniini
user@domain mapping
#
kaniini
although i guess
#
kaniini
its not needed
#
kaniini
as an implementation could just strip the user@ part off
snarfed joined the channel
#
aaronpk
Yeah discovery should happen at the domain part, then when you send the user to the auth server they're either already logged in or they type in their account name at that point
#
aaronpk
People can just type their server name into the login prompt on sites and that is even less typing than entering their full user@domain
#
kaniini
anyway, it is our hope that other fediverse platforms will follow our lead and also adopt indieauth

@kaniini that's great news - have you looked at mf2 support too?
#
kaniini
elements of microformats 2.0 are used in activitypub
#
kaniini
(and also in litepub)
#
kaniini
we do intend to provide hcard 1.0 and 2.0 markup profiles in the pleroma static FE module
#
[kevinmarks786]
at the moment you put silo markup in, but not html, so it's js;dr but silo friendly

kaniini: if you're working on pleroma, https://github.com/snarfed/bridgy-fed/issues/12 could be another good place to help improve indieweb integration
#
Loqi
[snarfed] #12 support Pleroma
#
snarfed
first step would be to test and see if it works as is. it might!
#
kaniini
snarfed: it works
#
snarfed
kaniini: whoa, really? awesome! which part(s)?
#
snarfed
mind adding details and example links to that issue?

snarfed: same things as Mastodon. Pleroma can emulate Mastodon API
#
snarfed
kaniini: wait, so did you test it? or just expect it should work since mastodon works? (either is ok, just checking)
#
kaniini
not tested yet
#
kaniini
but it will work

uggghhh all that recruiting today and my syndication to Twitter got restricted to using their Read API only......
#
[jgmac1106]
I have been talking to people all day wondering why i was getting ignored
#
aaronpk
wait what
#
aaronpk
how many tweets do you have to post to get rate limited?
#
aaronpk
i posted a ton yesterday
#
[jgmac1106]
my guess because I was specifically recruiting women and PoC for the Summit and I do not follow them I flagged an harrassment warnign or something
#
[jgmac1106]
either way spent about two hours after suspension asking people to come. Was wondering why everything fell silent
#
[jgmac1106]
will have to deal with it tomorrow, have to take the kids to golf
#
[jgmac1106]
but annoyed, last time they suspended me for @ mentioning baseball players during all star game and refused on give me read/write back. Had to stop using SNAP
#
aaronpk
ohh yeah I was just replying to mentions of me so that probably looked less like spam
snarfed joined the channel
#
[jgmac1106]
I syndicate probably 40-75 posts a day so it couldnt be activity. Has to be protected classes....too bad they can't stop the actual harassment but invite folks to a free Open Source conference and you must be bad actor
#
aaronpk
i really suspect it's more about unsolicited @-mentions than the particular accounts
#
aaronpk
all we can do is speculate anyway. twitter is trying to crack down on abuse, a lot of that is done via bots using the API, and unfortunately POSSEing looks the same as bots posting
