voxpelli: Zegnat left you a message on 2019-04-24 at 8:58pm UTC: If you needed a reason to visit Åmål, and want to help kickstart IndieWeb in Sweden again, there is this thing we are trying to plan: https://indieweb.org/2019/Planning#Remote_Viewing_Party !

Heya! Is it possble to POSSE articles automatically to Twitter via Brid.gy? Used Quill for an article, no POSSE option. But writing a note on Quill gave a successfull POSSE copy though

Would Rivers Of News (open RSS reader of sorts) be a good candidate to fork to build an Indieweb social reader beyond just being an RSS reader? http://scripting.com/2014/06/02/whatIsARiverOfNewsAggregator.html
#
[grantcodes]
Sure, that seems pretty close to what https://stream.indieweb.org/ already is

If you're building something just for yourself, then sure, it's a fine starting point. But if your goal is to add those features to the main project, I'd suggest opening an issue on the project describing what you want to add and see how receptive they are to the changes.

[Peter_La Fond] welcome! You can find some info about hosting local homebrew website clubs (biweekly IndieWeb-focused meetups) at indieweb.org/HWC

Hi again! I'm still struggling to implement Bridgy-Fed into my site, but I'm now one step closer to the solution… I hope 🙂
#
[renem]
I can find my user on a Mastodon search (@me@renem.net), issue is when I try to follow this user from Mastodon it is a "follow request" that the Bridgy-Fed user needs to approve. So the follow always ends in an "waiting for approval". But how to approve, since the Bridgy-Fed user isn't a "real" Mastodon user that has an inbox to approve follow requests?

[eddie]
hmm that strange. From my understanding approval requests should be auto-approved by Bridgy Fed, but maybe this is something new? /cc snarfed

Tangential question, is the source for Loqi available anywhere? this delayed voicing is an interesting idea
#
krup
well, not the source anyway

[renem] [eddie] correct, bridgy fed auto-accepts follow requests

([renem] bridgy fed AP users do have working inboxes so that they can accept replies, follows, etc. eg here's your actor: https://fed.brid.gy/.well-known/webfinger?resource=acct:renem.net@renem.net )

[snarfed] Strange, you can test it with my account, after I click the follow button on [renem]@renem.net the button gets the “follow” label, but after you refresh the profile page for that account it’s switched to “waiting for approval”.
#
[renem]
And I’ve no idea on how to use that inbox to accept requests with that actor. When I use the “inbox” link from that result I get an error that GET requests are not allowed on that URL. Can you explain that to me, please?
[snarfed] joined the channel
#
[snarfed]
[renem] short answer is, you're not expected (or able) to manually manage AP requests in bridgy fed like that

(you can definitely learn more if you want though! https://w3c.github.io/activitypub/ )
