I have been playing with putting more photos at each 'level' of my site
#
j4y_funabashi[m]
Year/month/day
#
j4y_funabashi[m]
I much prefer this over a straight list but its not quite there yet
#
j4y_funabashi[m]
I'm thinking that I could prioritize certain tags for the preview photos. Currently it shows the 3 latest photos at each level
#
Zegnat
Interesting. It is kinda fun to see more photos pop up the deeper you go
#
Zegnat
I do think it would be fun to play with the way the photos for the higher levels are being picked. So they can somehow be more representative of the year/month rather than being the last things that happened that year
#
Zegnat
Really nice j4y_funabashi[m]! :D
#
j4y_funabashi[m]
Yeah it is tricky to get the balance right. Some months might have 10 photos and some 100
#
j4y_funabashi[m]
My favourite part is still the map at each level
#
j4y_funabashi[m]
Once I have converted the lat/lng to city/country I can have the same drill down over locations as I have now over time
#
j4y_funabashi[m]
Zegnat: thanks! It certainly needs some design love but that can come after I have figured out the hierarchy + balance the number of photos

j4y_funabashi[m]
Actually the location hierarchy will be trickier. With time you have a nice natural limit. 12 months per year, 3 photos per month, 36 photos is not too large a download.
#
j4y_funabashi[m]
But city/country doesn't have that natural limiting
#
j4y_funabashi[m]
Might have to incorporate time as well so it would be "show me all photos in Spain from 2016"

Any tips for Amy from the online Homebrew Website Club organisers? https://twitter.com/Amy_Hupe/status/1157581951177502720?s=20

This is interesting on the tension between document and flow

@vgr
I want to do another thread related to the previous one, on temporal fidelity, on “I-it time” versus “I-you time”. Object relations time versus social relations time. And indirectly about interest vs social graphs. And more concretely about documents in social media. https://twitter.com/vgr/status/1157668998588141569

[KevinMarks] can we incorporate some of the "getting unstuck" topics that Amy is talking about into the longer description / encouragement at the top of /HWC ?

That's a good idea.
