note that threaded replies don’t work very well for the folks who access this chat via chat.indieweb.org or IRC
#
aaronpk
it's fine, they just aren't threaded
#
[fluffy]
I think they appear in the chat just as regular flat posts, and there’s no way for anyone else to continue it as a thread.
#
aaronpk
yes that is all true :) it's just normal to see conversations resumed later in IRC without context

yeah but then when the replies to it come to the main channel it gets weirder for folks on the slack side too 🙂
#
aaronpk
very true :) i wish there was a way to disable threads in slack but they don't have that feature
#
[fluffy]
Something something silo chat providers
#
[fluffy]
As I recall, it was support for threads which led them to drop the IRC gateway in the first place.

I recently moved all my comics feeds from Feedly to Yarns (+Together).
#
[prtksxna]
A majority of them are Tumblr, and no images show up in the feed itself.
#
[prtksxna]
I guess Feedly was doing custom things for tumblr to be able to show… something

is there a way to save unread articles on Together?

[kim_landwehr] Not really built in. Maybe it's possible with indiepaper?

thanks [grantcodes] , that is what I thought but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.

Is it show-and-tell time? I made a little thing: easy publishing of 2-D CAD drawings on the web in Javascript. https://upon2020.com/blog/2019/08/draftingjs-cad-diagrams-in-the-browser/

[grantcodes] Thanks for the tip about Indiepaper https://www.indiepaper.io/. It's very easy to set up but after configuring and trying the "Read Later" bookmarklet I was surprised to find that the article that I wanted to read was just posted on my blog. Do you have any advice on tutorials that explain how to set it up with a microsub server like Aperture? I'd rather have the articles how up there than get posted directly to my blog. I'm

sure it's something simple that I've missed.

[Will_Monroe] I don't remember the exact details of it right now, but if you use aperture what you need to do is create an access token for the channel you want to store the read later posts in. And then I think log into indiepaper using that cannel URL, or something along those lines
#
[Will_Monroe]
[grantcodes] thank you! I wasn't able to make that work but it's gotten me a step closer to seeing how one can post to a channel in Aperture (or any microsub server?). I'll keep trying.
#
[grantcodes]
Yes, effectively you use an aperture channel as your micropub server and it publishes there

[grantcodes] a little reading on Aperture's documentation pages https://aperture.p3k.io/docs cleared it up. I had the correct token but should have been pointing to `https://aperture.p3k.io/micropub` instead of the channel-specific URL. Works now!
