TheCondor In this case it's not open source or open protocols, an indie dev decided to sell its software to the tech company X backed SV money. The tech company X continues to tell to everyone "we are indie developers" and raising money on Patreon or Paypal suggesting their customers and people on the web they are helping indie developers to pay the server costs.
