[tantek] but if you're going to bother to struggle with learning any wiki syntax, MediaWiki syntax is literally worth the investment most of all, purely for lowering your barrier to contributing to Wikipedia. In this day & age of massive (social) media misinfo, contributing science and cited facts is a revolutionary act.
