Loqi[tantek]: Zegnat left you a message 3 days, 15 hours ago: re: view posts for YouTube, I looked into that, but then YouTube removed the history endpoint from their API. Sad because you can still see your watch history on the site if logged in :(
[Aaron_Klemm]Quick request for opinions: How many here find connecting with the big platforms (Facebook, Twitter, IG, etc.) very important to their personal websites as a feature? How about as a feature in software you're building?
[snarfed](polling chat here can be useful but biased since this is a small fraction of the overall community, and tends to be more technical and involved)
[Aaron_Klemm]Is there any indication that things are changing such that folks aren't as keen to make those integrations or insist on having them as new users? I'm leaning towards this idea of just forgetting the big silos and treating them separately. User uptake of Mastodon and certain possibilities in the IndieWeb make me think it's reasonable.
dopplergange, [pfefferle], buirg, petermolnar, drkokandy, Mikaela, dg, jjuran, raucao, wolftune, [jansauer], [tantek], [Aaron_Klemm], [benatwork], yar and [MitchWagner] joined the channel; en3r0_ and nickodd left the channel
[MitchWagner]Regarding POSSE: Most of my friends are on Facebook, some on Twitter, a few on IndieWeb. I view my IndieWeb presence as a stake in the future but for now if I want to stay connected, I need Facebook and Twitter. I use cut-and-paste and re-post manually.
[tw2113]for what it’s worth, i don’t put share links on my content. in a way i gauge that as a “how much do you really want to send this to the people who follow you”.
