[chrisaldrich]Ha! I'm updating some linkrot and apparently I retriggered indienews. At least that's one that's worth rehighlighting from time to time. 🙂
[chrisaldrich]Interestingly there's a lot of old indienews permalinks that are 404ing from my site. may need to turn off webmentions for a bit to update them all to make sure that doesn't happen again.
Tekk_Is there any particular reason for the implies properties for hcards? The wiki entry just says "as part of continued simplification" but it seems like it adds a fair number of edge cases exclusively to save a whole 2 lines of typing.
aaronpkTekk_: if you're talking about microformats 1 (hCard), that's been replaced with microformats 2 (h-card), but in either case #microformats is the better channel for that question
[tantek]I want a browser add-on that handles https://slack-redir.net/link? locally instead of giving slack-redir that referer info and making it take extra longer to load
[chrisaldrich]tantek, your question goes to the very heart of the surveillance capitalism the web is built upon.... if your clicks don't go through a 3rd party server, how can they compile a complete profile of you?
[chrisaldrich]!tell ndegruchy: I saw your post, I suppose the better question is what method did you use to find my photo to post to your site? That might help to track down the bug since it looks like that page parses like it should.
jboveWhere I work, all links in emails are being redirect through some Cisco "security" application. Presumably to protect us from malicious links. Perhaps Slack and Twitter would also do some security checks before you end up on the link target.
jeremycherfasI'm still overcoming the disappointment that I don't fully understand how to take advantage of WithKnown's specific implementation of Micropub.
jeremycherfasWow. That's good news. I look forward to testing (and maybe looking to see how you did it, in case I can adapt that for my use case. [manton]++
anotheryouprologic: Hi, just read about twtxt on hn, sounds good :). Do you recon it would be easy to fork? I got a few twitter-like experiments I'd love to run :). It would touch a lot though I fear
anotheryou1. only allow links, 2. store a submitters rating with each post, 3. store a custom amplification for each subscription, 4. store "seen" status of posts in my feed, 5. show posts by rating, not chronologically (with some slight decay).
anotheryouAnd another experiment: 1. enable auto-retweeting for all subscriptions, 2. have slight decay for each auto-retweet hop. (you could e.g. set up magazines that subscribe to editors that subscribe to authors). This one is very much an experiment, might get very noisy, but also provide instant viral spread.
