I think my dissertation up on my site as well, but it was about reading on the web and credibility
#
[jgmac1106]
not IndieWeb
#
KartikPrabhu
[jgmac1106]: that does count as Indieweb-related I think
#
[jgmac1106]
It was fun...for my Fellowship we created a fake internet and a fake facebook to be an assessment tool....was too hard to do psychometrics on open web
#
[jgmac1106]
first off h/t [jackjamieson] I can't wait to read!!
#
[jgmac1106]
but my dissertation looked at what explained the greatest variance in scores of credibility, overall reading comprehesion, prior knowledge or dispositions of a critical stance....way too much instrumentation for people to want to read

what is clubhouse
#
Loqi
It looks like we don't have a page for "clubhouse" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "clubhouse is ____", a sentence describing the term)
#
[chrisaldrich]
I just came to ask that very question....
#
lahacker
i know
#
lahacker
:)
#
GWG
You did....it doesn't seem open. IT says wait for the host to start this meeting.
#
[chrisaldrich]
refresh? Hopefully I opened up the right one.... 😮
#
GWG
[chrisaldrich]: What are the last 3 digits of the meeting number?
#
GWG
The one in the link on the events page is 080
#
[chrisaldrich]
I hope to goodness the "clubhouse" he was referring to isn't *Clubhouse* is a social media app where venture capitalists have gathered to mingle with one another while they are quarantined in their homes.
#
GWG
[chrisaldrich]: Turn off the waiting room?
#
GWG
Or admin me. That might be it
#
GWG
admit me
#
GWG
Because I'm in the right room.
#
GWG
Under Security->Enable Waiting Room
#
[chrisaldrich]
apparently someone started a second one, so there were two different zoom meetings for it
#
GWG
I'll be in here.

I do get a lot of traction on that domain (and more shares of that URL).
#
[Chris_Bongers]
As far as Webmention would go, is it possible to link these 2 domains to receive all webmentions?
#
[Chris_Bongers]
So my main site is owned by me. daily-dev-tips.com
#
[Chris_Bongers]
Then I repost to hashnode, but under my own domain h.daily-dev-tips.com (canonical to the main domain)
#
[Chris_Bongers]
Hey guys, have another question regarding owning content and getting credit for it.

Are you using webmention.io or your own endpoint?
[tantek] joined the channel
#
[tantek]
What is an endpoint?
#
Loqi
An endpoint is a URL for an application to communicate with to make something happen https://indieweb.org/endpoint
#
[fluffy]
Is that a hint that it should be #indieweb-dev or…?
#
[Chris_Bongers]
I'm using webmention.io 😉
#
[fluffy]
okay so whatever you’re using to retrieve the mentions can retrieve both URLs from webmention.io’s API. But you could/should also set all your posts to have a `<link rel="canonical">` to indicate what the one true origin URL should be.
#
[fluffy]
Which is also how to handle things if you have both http and https versions that work, for example
#
[fluffy]
although you still need to look at incoming mentions for all URLs it might be linked to as, I think
#
[Chris_Bongers]
I am using the canonicals, but would i have to register that subdomain as well? it doesn't show up by default

I think you’d have to log in as the subdomain to see the mentions to it, yeah.

[Chris_Bongers]: sorry i missed this earlier. you can use webmention.io with as many domains as you want
#
[fluffy]
Oh wait no you don’t have to, you can use the same identity for the webmention.io endpoint declaration.
#
aaronpk
once you sign in you can just copy the same tag it gives you into multiple sites
#
[fluffy]
Yeah that
#
aaronpk
it'll collect them all under your one "account"
#
[fluffy]
Sorry I was brainfarting last night and had forgotten that I’d set that exact thing up on all of my sites.
