[Raphael_Luckom]There seems to be more text on the "Why Indieweb" page ( https://indieweb.org/why ) about what's _wrong_ with corporate web stuff than what's awesome about the indieweb.

[tantek]there's also a balance here, people seeking to have their frustrations validated (and then listening to options), vs people just reading a pure sales pitch and thinking meh my status quo is ok for me
[chrisaldrich][Raphael_Luckom] I noticed you had some pottery and sewing interests... are you putting any of them on your own website? We could use some additional examples.
[jgmac1106][chrisaldrich] I need to put in metadata but I work with some glass blowers on their sites: http://kevo.glass/ was on Known but got too hard to manage for me to coach him on running it
[Raphael_Luckom]yeah, exactly. Someone with a crafting website had to get good at their craft _and_ build a website about it. At that level it would be weird not to also be at a level where you sell stuff at least occasionally

[chrisaldrich]Professional crafters can often have some more resources for web development and provide examples of their art online that could be useful for the hobbyists (and vice-versa). The key is having some useful indie examples all around.
[chrisaldrich]I think it may have been fluffy that had some examples and research into doing art and having a small personal store for selling some of it?
LoqiIndieWeb for business is the use of an indieweb site or section thereof for business purposes, to post professional products or services, announcements, reminders, and generally interact with business clients, instead of social media silo posts and pages https://indieweb.org/IndieWeb_for_business
[tantek]petermolnar, yeah it's borderline. the "purpose" or "scope" of the /why page is fairly #indieweb-meta even if the content that we expect to put there is more on topic for here
