pauloptinto[m]: which Beaker P2P microblog are you referring to? i briefly played with the Fritter demo on Beaker a year or more ago. to my recollection the social / blogging tools that were going to ship with Beaker v1.0 were removed in favor of developing them separately.

I keep my Beaker browser (and IPFS) open on my PC to help seed
#
jacky
but tbh outside of that, nah

Over at this #mastodev discussion about IndieAuth and Mastodon, Boris shows interest. I replied with basically a distillation of what folks here said and here is his thoughts:
#
jacky
is Boris a mastodev?
#
aaronpk
i've talked with him about indieauth stuff a few times

[KevinMarks]
he's a long time social software fan, I remember him from blogging things 20 years ago

[timothy_chambe] thanks for engaging him! i think was right earlier in the thread, though. bolting IndieAuth onto Mastodon, in either direction, is a pretty peripheral way to integrate the two
#
[snarfed]
webmentions + mf2 are arguably a much more core part of the IndieWeb spirit, so if we can keep pushing on that integration, whether IndieWeb sites talking AP or AP services talking webmention+mf2, that’s probably more meaningful
#
[tantek]
snarfed, why the comparison? why not both?
#
[snarfed]
of course both!
#
[snarfed]
just the usual finite budget for advocacy, etc
#
[tantek]
in this case, the modularity / simplicity of IndieAuth makes it a stronger case for such a big OSS project
#
[snarfed]
another idea could be letting people bring their own domains to their AP accounts
#
[snarfed]
maybe! i don’t see that it’d be a very big win, but as an easy onramp maybe, sdurte
#
[snarfed]
er sure
#
[tantek]
easier onramp is how you make progress with building block approaches like the IndieWeb
#
[tantek]
rather than all-in-one or traditional "stack" approaches
#
[tantek]
also remember the history that various folks pushed back on adding even "just" webmention sending to mastodon because of wanting to *reduce* discoverability. which is a social issue more than a technical issue
#
[tantek]
anyway, this is more of a #indieweb-dev conversation (again, somehow sneaking by Loqi)
#
aaronpk
wonders if Loqi's nudge is broken

gives loqi a new nudge

Loqi
runs away from the new nudge
#
[tantek]
I'll add a few more keywords
#
[tantek]
well there we go

↩️ I believe that yes, he is active in that #mastodev community on Github
#
Loqi
aaronpk, [timothy_chambe]: that's a lot of dev jargon! can you move to #indieweb-dev?
#
aaronpk
haha sorry i'm poking Loqi
#
[timothy_chambe]
↩️ will do

#
aaronpk
Loqi's jargon detector should be fully operational again now
#
jacky
so if we got a h-feed and tied in a lot of microformat properties and had it be subscribable using websub, then Loqi would kick me to the side?
#
aaronpk
only once every half hour :)
#
jacky
ah bet lol
