The goal here is to increase re-use of "stuff" and reduce landfill (environmental), without having to publish it all publicly.

I believe I used a local Netnews group for this kind of thing like in the 1990s, and was about 80% effective at that time (there were fewer alternatives) for getting rid of things when moving out of a shared rental house.
