[Joe_Crawford]At one time a person could slap Google Ads on a page that was interesting in some way and rely on a steady flow of money from it. For a while, maybe 15 years ago, I had one page which generated $50/month with views and clicks for a side banner that just sat there on the page. The monetization model is continuously evolving. A lot of of it seems, now, to be based around making the reading experience as intruded upon as possible:
[Joe_Crawford]That looks pretty good aaronpk. I have mostly ignored the ad space though I do have some google ads with legacy code on very old pages. Bookmarking for potential use.
LoqiIt looks like we don't have a page for "web monetization" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "web monetization is ____", a sentence describing the term)

[aciccarello]My impression is that most sites using it either will disable ads if there's web monetization or won't have ads at all so it seems like only people who benevolently want to support creators would sign up which means probably a minimal payout.
