#capjamesg[d]Are there any community preferences for using vs. not using a subdomain?
#capjamesg[d]I have all of my IndieWeb applications on separate subdomains (i.e. auth., microsub., webmention.). I recently realised that I could technically have reverse proxied all of these.
#capjamesg[d]Maybe more of a #dev thing actually so let's discuss there.

#Jef[m]i personally prefer it when a separate subdomain is a separate application entirely, e.g. git. is a gitea instance, www. is a website etc.
#Jef[m]webmentions & micropub n stuff are specific to a "website" i'd so, i would put them behind a subpath instead, e.g. /microsub or /webmention

#ZegnatSubdomains are nice because, without the need of your own proxying setup, you can switch out which service provider they point at. Moving your blog from Wordpress hosted to Ghost hosted? If you used blog.example.com you can point the DNS entry to the new provider and you are done.
#ZegnatThat would be my main reason to go for subdomains for separate "things". Now what a separate thing is, is of course debatable :)
