#[snarfed]1[Chris_Lott] looks like you're on Reclaim Hosting, they have a kind of infamous history of blocking wide swaths of the internet, including cloud hosts like the one Bridgy is on. lots of background in https://github.com/snarfed/bridgy/issues/885
#Loqi[willtm] #885 Reclaim Hosting (BitNinja) blocking Google Cloud IP addresses
#[snarfed]1I guess whoever you talked to there isn't aware of it 🤷
#[Chris_Lott]Hmmm. I've been with reclaim since they were new and the founders/owners are friends whose philosophy is generally indieweb-ish. Which is to say I will use this info but am reluctant to switch because I've never had a single service issue with them, literally. Hopefully this isn't the final mail in the coffin of my latest IndieWeb dalliance!
#[snarfed]1feel free to pass on this issue, happy to talk to them if they want. good luck!

#[Chris_Lott][snarfed] the solution with Reclaim is to move to their cloud hosting rather than shared hosting. Which is kind of what I expected.
#[snarfed]1huh, odd split that they use this overly aggressive firewall on one product but not the other 🤷

#[tantek]snarfed, is it that odd? more aggressive restrictions would seem to make sense on "shared" hosting (presuming that means multiple people on the same virtual server)
#[tantek]also if you want to edit a message and NOT have it say "Edited", edit the message, select all, copy, unsend, new message, paste, send. presto

#aaronpkto be fair, editing is a lot simpler of a problem with iMessage compared to twitter
#[tantek]^ that sounds like a #indieweb-dev assertion 😛
#[tantek]on a borderline subject: I'm looking forward to documenting all the UI nuances of how Apple "solved" create/send/unsend/edit/delete interactions, as I feel a lot of that will be re-usable in IndieWeb posting UI contexts

#JBritSis posting a referral link for a preferred site host admonished?
#JBritSlet me read the rules not to waste anyones time heh
#[tantek]welcome JBritS! In general affiliate links are avoided, and especially if added as a first or very early edit to the wiki, it would appear to be spam and likely get removed.

#JBritShi tantek thanks. I meant in here. I know you guys actually work and don't want to bother you
#JBritSI can assume that means the channel also though heh
