[tantek]: I figured your post from 2014 needed revisiting

[tantek]
it does

[tantek]
you linked to a github repo of share urls which is not really the same as comms
#
GWG
[tantek]: I can remove that, it was an example of places that have such things.
#
GWG
[tantek]: Hopefully mine restarting that conversation
#
[tantek]
but it doesn't have "such things" that's my point. URLs for comms are NOT the same "such things" as URLs for "sharing"
#
GWG
[tantek]: Removed it regardless
#
[tantek]
your post asked lots of good questions
#
[tantek]
most of which AFAIK do not have good answers
#
GWG
[tantek]: I know. But at least, I'm adding some communications links to my site.

are you going to put them on your /contact page or somewhere else? and if so, what's the use-case for a separate web form submission and comm links?
#
GWG
[tantek]: No one ever uses the form. I might just give up on it.
#
[tantek]
I have wondered about that
#
[tantek]
it's such a common pattern, but is it even remotely useful?
#
[tw2113_Slack_]
are we talking about comment forms?
#
[tw2113_Slack_]
aversion to "comment sections" is pretty pervasive

GWG
[tw2113_Slack_]: Contact Form.

I find they are sometimes the only way to contact someone who does not make their email known. But only as a last resort.

I feel like contact forms are really just an anti-spam measure where you are hoping to keep your email address out of spammer circulation.

After yesterday's session, I decided I might want to add a terms of service page to my cite, despite having no legal basis to do so. https://david.shanske.com/terms-of-service/ What do you think of this?
