#LoqiGet started on the indieweb by connecting with the indiewebcamp community, getting a personal domain, a place for your content, and setting up your home page and other indieweb essentials https://indieweb.org/Getting_Started
#[schmarty]welcome zanne! you'll find a lot of guidance on the wiki, like the link above.

#LoqiIt looks like we don't have a page for "Haven" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "Haven is ____", a sentence describing the term)
#[tantek]also an interesting focus on private-by-default, which is something we've talked about here too
#[schmarty]same same. seems relevant if not normally active here.
#[aciccarello]Lack of private content is currently a downside of my free netlify hosting. They do have a paid option for authenticated access but I'm not sure how flexible that is.

#[tantek]I still think that use of "private" is incorrect/misleading. friends-only is different from "private"
#[schmarty]possibly a discussion for -meta, there, but whatever names we use for non-public posts that we want certain people to see, i feel like we need more good examples of how to do them IndieWeb-style.
#aaronpkotoh "private party" is a pretty established friends-only use of "private"

#[sebsel]and a door with ‘private’ on it in some store is probably still used by the whole family who might live there
#[sebsel]I was working on some stuff and when it is indieweb related I like to have an eye at the Indieweb chat ;)
#[snarfed]I ended up on a call with Matt (Haven founder) a couple months ago. He was very interested in IndieWeb, but also fully focused on non-public, which is still more experimental for us
#[snarfed]I encouraged him to look into selfauth, ticketauth, etc
#[snarfed]I also encouraged him to to look at DNS registrar APIs like [manton] has done w/micro.blog to streamline people getting their own domains
