#[fluffy]Oh man I forget when I started my blog but it’s definitely coming up on 20 years as well
#[fluffy]Longer than 20 years if you also count when I was doing a “developer diary” on my graphics research
#[fluffy]Looks like I started my self-hosted blog on January 22, 2003. And before that I was blogging on kuro5hin.org, but I forget when they launched their “diaries” section.
#[fluffy]The earliest archive.org capture of my kuro5hin blog shows entries going back to August 12, 2001 but it also has a ‘more entries’ link and I have no idea how much further it goes.

#[snarfed]https://github.com/snarfed/hackermention is up and running, sending webmentions for every Hacker News comment since the very beginning. currently at id 1546, processing ~4/s, will take ~92d more at this rate
#[snarfed]may God have mercy on our souls
#Loqi[snarfed] hackermention: Universal webmention backfeed for Hacker News.
#[snarfed]I suspect this will be an unpleasant surprise to at least one webmention recipient. looking forward to that conversation!
#sknebel[snarfed]: do you grab stats? would be curious e.g. about percentage of urls that have an endpoint etc
#[tantek]thanks jamietanna. I'm in meetings all day these next couple of days but hopefully I will have time to reflect and write something. I can't even remember when I blogged a bloggiversary last
#Loqi[snarfed] has 26 karma in this channel over the last year (52 in all channels)
#[tantek]I love looking back at old HN comment threads on my old posts. Always a fascinating peek into perspectives
#[tantek]A pattern I have noticed, if you want support on HN, blog a "hot take" that critiques something that is "trendy" or recently "popular" among web developers that actually doesn’t make sense from a practical standpoint.
#[tantek]HN commenters love when someone makes a cogent case against some cargo-culting behavior
#[tantek]and it spurs various supporters of the trendiness to jump in defensively which causes even more commenters to pile-on the critiques
#sknebelyou can do the same thing by posting a hot take against something that is useful and practical though
#sknebelor at least there is a pretty good chance of that working :D
