# Xin Hello everyone, we are a small team of three, been working on this native macOS app for building and hosting decentralized websites: https://planetable.xyz
# Xin For example, this weblog is built with the app and hosted on this Mac I am currently typing on: https://planetable.eth.limo/
# Xin From a tech stack perspective, it's IPFS + ENS, it does not require a cloud or a remote server.
mro, polezaivsani and [marksuth] joined the channel
# [KevinMarks] You are bridging it out to the https web, presumably that uses a server or is that a DNS bridge?
Xin joined the channel
# Xin https://eth.limo is a project for bringing content on IPFS to https web.
# Xin If a browser/client has native support for IPFS+ENS, then it's possible to just enter this to the browser address bar:
# Xin ipns://planetable.eth
# Xin Loqi, sorry!

# petermolnar Loqi is our bot who reacts to certain things, so don't worry, Loqi is not offended :)
# petermolnar who is Loqi?
# Loqi Loqi is a friendly and useful bot/digital therapist present in the IndieWeb discussion channels https://indieweb.org/User:Loqi.me
# petermolnar anyway, the idea of building websites on top of IPFS is not too new, may I ask if you also support indieweb features with it, such as webmentions? If so, how? Because if one updates the document in ipfs, the hash address changes, so keeping a conversation up would be interesting.

# Xin Yes, IPFS CID is mutable, it is just a hash. So we publish websites to IPNS, which is not mutable. Then it can be linked to ENS.
# Xin Overall, every single piece in this stack, is not controlled by a corporate. It's 100% P2P.
# Xin Ok Loqi, I will move to #dev for sure.

# [snarfed]2 we (eg [tantek]) have discussed the pattern of syndicating full content of notes to Twitter/Mastodon, but only title and link for articles, eg https://fed.brid.gy/docs#which-parts
# [snarfed]2 I hadn't quite realized that Mastodon itself independently came to the same conclusion: when BF sends an AS2 Note to Mastodon, it shows the full contents, but when it sends an AS2 Article, Mastodon only shows the name

# [chrisaldrich] What is year in review?
# Loqi Year in Review is a feature on some silos (like Facebook) as well as being a special kind of article on some IndieWeb sites that summarizes important aspects of the past year https://indieweb.org/year_in_review
# [chrisaldrich] year in review << https://fandom.tumblr.com/post/702448565057961984/its-that-time-again-its-tumblrs-2022-year-in [[Tumblr]]'s year in review for 2022 via their [https://fandom.tumblr.com/ Fandom site].
# Loqi ok, I added "https://fandom.tumblr.com/post/702448565057961984/its-that-time-again-its-tumblrs-2022-year-in [[Tumblr]]'s year in review for 2022 via their [https://fandom.tumblr.com/ Fandom site]." to the "See Also" section of /year_in_review https://indieweb.org/wiki/index.php?diff=85039&oldid=84792
# [chrisaldrich] Note to self: tag big events in 2023 with a custom tag like YIR23 or something similar to make the editorial work of creating a Year in Review easier.
# [chrisaldrich] A user interface argument against Tweetstorms? https://twitter.com/jack/status/1602800293850320896
# @jack I don't want to edit everything into 280 char chunks, so here's the rest: https://www.getrevue.co/profile/jackjack/issues/a-native-internet-protocol-for-social-media-1503112 (twitter.com/_/status/1602800293850320896)
# [chrisaldrich] Of potential interest to some here on the funding front, Jack says, "To accelerate open internet and protocol work, I’m going to open a new category of #startsmall grants: “open internet development.”"
# [snarfed]2 yeah those did look possibly relevant for people here
# IWDiscordRelay <capjamesg#4492> Eek. Revue is shutting down.
# [aciccarello] I was wondering about that
# [snarfed]2 evidently they announced the shutdown after Jack posted
# [aciccarello] You'd think Jack would be aware of that
# Loqi It looks like we don't have a page for "Revue" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "Revue is ____", a sentence describing the term)
# gRegor I'm not familiar with it, but added to https://indieweb.org/site-deaths#Revue with dates and download links
# [aciccarello] There are some news articles from today so I think it's safe to call today the announcement today
# M0x3b0b[m] Oh, Klout shut down in 2018? Guess that explains why I hadn't heard anything about them lately.
