[tantek], I recall some chat a couple weeks ago about a hybrid of /unlisted where you could still find them on archive pages, but not in homepage / streams
#
gRegor
idk if there was a term for it though

[snarfed]++ for unearthing that entertaining notes vs articles bikeshed. This part in the last comment though (at the risk of upsetting Loqi) : "It feels like this work was abandoned as “Schemas are hard. Let’s go blobbing”. Without better semantics on the types of messages passed between systems, there is no real hope of interoperability on the fediverse."

Very distinct reader ui (desktop only) https://bloggy.garden/

That's kinda fun even if I don't find it very usable 😁

Has anyone managed to get rel="me" working on Ghost? There are hints of it on the Ghost forum, but nothing concrete to follow.

[tantek]
That is hilarious. I'm having 8-bit videogame flashbacks
#
[tantek]
billbennettnz does Ghost work w/o JS yet or is it still js;dr?
#
gRegor
what is ghost
#
Loqi
Ghost is an an open source blogging software project written in node.js, and also a hosted silo at https://ghost.org https://indieweb.org/Ghost
#
gRegor
I wasn't aware of js;dr issues with it, maybe certain themes? Checked a friend's Ghost blog and it is readable without JS, though his page header disappears without js
#
[tantek]
gRegor IIRC some of the default themes were at least somewhat js;dr making it hard/impossible to add mf2

tanktek - that question is above my level of competence to answer. I know it is written in node.js and that's about where my understanding stops ;)
#
billbennettnz
I've seen some examples of it working with some themes in the Ghost forum... but thought to ask here before I attempt to modify any code. I'm at the level where I can deal with HTML, CSS and (tinker with but not actually write) PHP, but the code for the Ghost themes looks unfamiliar, so I thought I'd ask here first before diving in a the deep end.
#
[tantek]
got it. might make more sense to move this chat to #indieweb since we're diving in to coding
#
[tantek]
I mean move it to #indieweb-dev 🙂

#
billbennettnz
I'm quite excited because I've found a way to do this that doesn't involve diving into the theme code.
#
billbennettnz
In Ghost you can use the Code Injection feature to put a line into the header, so will try <link rel="me" href="https://mastodon.nz/@billbennett"> and see if that works.

nice! that sounds promising! if that works, might be worth writing it up as a "How to" on our /Ghost page

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a great day. I looked round the previous chat, site and around google to change my current webmention endpoint to brid.gy but, I have not found the solution. I am using blogger and I have added the link <link href='https://brid.gy/webmention/blogger' rel='webmention'/> (it was webmention.io before) thank you.
Oclair and geoffo joined the channel
#
[snarfed]
h3rb1 yup that's right for blogger, https://brid.gy/about#endpoint
#
[snarfed]
Have you also logged into https://brid.gy/ with blogger?
#
h3rb1
Hello snarfed, yes I did log in. I still have the message: "Warning: your blog's current webmention endpoint is https://webmention.io"
#
h3rb1
maybe i need to wait a few days for the cache to clear.
#
[snarfed]
If you log in with blogger again, it should re-check your endpoint
#
Loqi
hey h3rb1, [snarfed]: it looks like this conversation is getting pretty technical (endpoint), can you take it to #indieweb-dev?
#
[snarfed]
Loqi not quite, sorry
bozo_ and mro joined the channel
#
[tantek]
Yeah, maybe we need more than one word threshold for that
#
h3rb1
I logged out/in and also disconnected/reconnected and it still shows the warning...I will need to check what else I need to do, I don't specifically see a "disconnect" option on webmention.io
#
[snarfed]
h3rb1 what's your Bridgy user page URL?
#
h3rb1
I entered the other channel if need be.

#
[snarfed]
ah that looks like an old user page of yours. the current one it's logging you into is for blog.h3rb1.com (not status.), https://brid.gy/blogger/4594701060636748924

oh, I see. I did the split of my site and added two subdomains blog (for long format) and status (for micro blog/likes/boost birdsite replacement) I guess it didn't like that change...
#
[snarfed]
that's ok, you just log into Bridgy with Blogger for each of those blogs separately
#
h3rb1
Seems to be working fine on the blog subdomain, are multiple sub domains supported?

#
[snarfed]
if you log into Bridgy with status.h3rb1.com instead of blog.h3rb1.com, it should fix that
#
h3rb1
I did log out of "blog" via brid.gy/logout and then only into "status" the warning still there. I also clicked on "disable" and logged in again with the same results.
#
[snarfed]
Hmm ok! I'll look. Fortunately your webmentions should be working despite that warning
gRegor joined the channel
#
h3rb1
Yep. I did test it out before so it seems to be doing it's thing.

it's just weird that it's on one subdomain and not the other.

Bridgy Fed users, I'm currently triaging the list of open feature requests/bugs, so it's a good time to weigh in on anything in https://github.com/snarfed/bridgy-fed/issues (or add new ones!) if you care
#
[snarfed]
unrelated, wow, https://the-federation.info/#projects and https://fediverse.observer/stats both show that WordPress is the third or fourth most popular ActivityPub implementation by number of instances, ~5% of the total
