#ullbekingHello all, I attended the HWC London online meeting last night as I'm just starting out in the IndieWeb scene. It was such an enjoyable experience, with a nice vibe and many cool people attending. I'm looking forward to getting more involved as my website develops.
#@sqiouyilurealizing that I can just design content and websites however I want regardless of what other people usually do has been so great, just casually building my own house but digital (twitter.com/_/status/1631182011984642048)

#[tantek]that's funny [snarfed] as I tend to be very skeptical of "interesting part is the plumbing" in general. I'm curious what new user features (or improvements on existing user features) is readily visible from the prototypes (assuming folks with the preview can talk about it)
#[snarfed]I'm not claiming it's a better end user product or has new or improved features 😁 it pretty clearly doesn't right now
#[snarfed]well ok I can take that back. one huge end user feature is first class migration. you'll be able to migrate to a new instance _with_ all of your past posts, interactions, etc intact. you'll also be able to do that without your existing instance's cooperation, and even if it's down entirely
#[snarfed]the other is global search and indexing support
#[snarfed]both of those are in progress, but still
#ullbekingI'm looking forward to the next one! I loved the sense of fun and positive energy; the easy-going, free-form exchange of ideas; the friendly personalities. I look forward to demonstrating any progress on my website at our next meeting.
#ullbeking17:50 <IWDiscordRelay> <capjamesg#4492> I’m glad you enjoyed the meetup!
#IWDiscordRelay<soloninja#4668> The plumbing does peak my interest. General idea is very similar to the fediverse. I was wondering why go into all the time to build it. Then it dawned on me. Why not build more protocol. It doesn’t hurt

#ullbekingI'm implementing it on AWS, and I am curious to know who else is using AWS ;-)
