# [tantek] I have a couple of examples, one, interviews (keeping track at http://tantek.com/w/TantekInterviews — yes I know that's a redundant page name), and another, photos used by / published in media/newspapers: https://flickr.com/photos/tantek/tags/press — and yes I realize both of those are on silos — this is partly why I'm exploring, I'd like to have page for this kind of thing on my own site.
# aaronpk right now it's focused on podcasts and youtube videos https://aaronparecki.com/appearances
# aaronpk oh hm and I also have a "press" tag that is mostly tagging bookmarks of mentions of me in blog posts https://aaronparecki.com/tag/press
# Loqi It looks like we don't have a page for "appearances" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "appearances is ____", a sentence describing the term)
# [tantek] appearances is a page on some IndieWeb sites that lists external pages and media that mention or include the author or something they created in some form, by name, image or other likeness, an interview or quotes therefrom, photos or other media by the author perhaps as part of larger piece of content such as a news article.
# [tantek] appearances << IndieWeb Example:

: https://aaronparecki.com/appearances and also https://aaronparecki.com/tag/press# Loqi ok, I added "IndieWeb Example:
{{aaronpk}}
: https://aaronparecki.com/appearances and also https://aaronparecki.com/tag/press" to a brand new "See Also" section of /appearances https://indieweb.org/wiki/index.php?diff=88048&oldid=88047 # [tantek] appearances << IndieWeb Example:
{{t}}
has a page of interviews at: http://tantek.com/w/TantekInterviews (redirects to / hosted on [[PBWorks]])# Loqi ok, I added "IndieWeb Example:

{{t}}
has a "press" tag he uses on Flickr to show a list of his Creative Commons licensed photos that have been published in online press articles: https://flickr.com/photos/tantek/tags/press# Loqi ok, I added "Silo Example:

# [tantek] This exploration of "appearances" has been a good reminder that a simpler, plain(ish) text content-first approach is so much more important than overthinking with categories, schemas, formats etc. create a bunch of plain unstyled content with real information first, worry about layout & style later, and formats after those.

# IWDiscordRelay <benpate#1129> Is there an IndieWeb way of doing DMs? Or, would some people here be interested in hammering one out?
# IWDiscordRelay <benpate#1129> Something between a WebMention, a Vouch, and an “OAuth push” to send private credentials to another site.

# [KevinMarks] What are private posts?
# Loqi private posts refer to posts or portions of posts which are private to either the author or to a limited audience chosen or previously approved by the author (like close friends), the latter also known as friends-only posts https://indieweb.org/private_posts
