# [davidmead] Though I quit Twitter ages ago, I’ve now given up on even clicking on shared links to it. Everything for the past few weeks has been behind the login wall for me
# [tantek] URL design << Why short clean URLs, or rather, disadvantage of long URLs (like Google Docs URLs in contrast to e.g. Etherpad URLs: they take up too much space (limits how many you can use and text too) in Slack channel topics & descriptions which are limited to 250 characters per: https://slack.com/help/articles/201654083-Set-a-conversation-topic-or-channel-description
# Loqi ok, I added "Why short clean URLs, or rather, disadvantage of long URLs (like Google Docs URLs in contrast to e.g. Etherpad URLs: they take up too much space (limits how many you can use and text too) in Slack channel topics & descriptions which are limited to 250 characters per: https://slack.com/help/articles/201654083-Set-a-conversation-topic-or-channel-description" to the "See Also" section of /URL_design https://indieweb.org/wiki/index.php?diff=89215&oldid=81818

# [tantek] Web longevity question that's quite topical IMO. The person who bought http://molly.com from Molly Holzschlag is apparently a fan https://www.molly.com/threads/a-loving-tribute-to-molly-holzschlag-the-woman-behind-the-wisdom.2493/ which makes me wonder if they would be open to hosting static versions of all her blog posts at their original permalinks, thus repairing all links to them.
# [tantek] Also is that a generally good approach to /longevity where domains may get bought/sold/transferred — include a clause to continue hosting static content at prior permalinks even if the homepage etc. is repurposed? Is that a reasonable request for most uses of domain purchases?
# [tantek] e.g. with a multi-reply to that post and https://twitter.com/vietyork/status/1699934620526297254

# [tantek] I'm also trying to track the ownership trail of Molly .com, as I know it was first sold from Molly the individual to Molly the startup in ~2018: https://venturebeat.com/ai/hashtag-creator-launches-molly-to-build-a-personal-bot-from-your-social-media-footprint/

# [tantek] [snarfed] according to https://indieweb.org/IndiePass_for_Android#Anonymous and https://indieweb.org/ActivityPub#Criticism which both link to the .site
# [tantek] heh Internet Archive got the Atom equivalent when the URL for the ActivityPub criticism was first archive: view-source:https://web.archive.org/web/20180808203741if_/https://pleroma.site/notice/2962026 failed conneg--
