HiMYSYeD Where do IndieWebbers "host" their videos files that they no longer want to host in silos like youtube and instagram? The files' size get very large, very fast, sooo...?

aaronpk disk space is cheap, the more complicated question is how you host long videos in a way that doesn't involve putting up a 3gb file for people to download

HiMYSYeD Aaron: Thank you for reminding me of the obvious, so obvious that I forgot it. Disk Space IS Cheap relatively now to when I began using youtube as my hard drive for storing "all" my videos. Previously I was uploading .mp4s directly to my webhosting company's shared webhosting account, using my own domain name. And very quickly my simple wordpress blog was approaching 3 GBs in space used. I then began breaking up my longer videos into 10 minute

HiMYSYeD segments and began using Instagram as my "Hard drive" instead of youtube, then embedding from there. I've searched a lot through IndieWeb postings for this answer, yet haven't found an example that I can role model off of. .... yeah, Disk Space IS Cheap, so maybe it's as simple as that, pay for webhosting into double digit GigaBytes storage, and self-host the videos. Hopefully my thoughts are useful to someone out there...
