[tw2113]i hate that they took that space jam site down for the new lesser movie, but i'm glad they kept it up at least in a different space on the domain

[tantek][KevinMarks] I didn't find any indieweb relevance in Ethan's article you linked. There's bits about community & governance but that's more #indieweb-meta at best in terms of any applicability to indieweb tbh
[tantek]While that probably has too much context (distraction), it's better than zero, and it's a link that others would consider copy pasting & sharing.
[tantek]A long gibberish audio mp3 URL with zero context and uninviting UI (small player on an otherwise empty dark page) feels ugh and I certainly wouldn't feel motivated to share it to others
[tantek]I don't even want to send readers to such a destination because part of that bad UX reflects on the person linking to it. Why did you send me to an ugly URL with an unpleasant/dead looking page?
[KevinMarks]That was the link from the original podcast; it works with the simpler one huffduffer found too. You get the browser UI for the audio, so it looks a bit different in safari/firefox/chrome, true. The point was to show that you can inline embed extracts in the text. There are various js viewers that will give you more complicated players, yes, but there is a declarative html way to do it.
[tantek]Anyway I’m sitting next to Jeremy so I asked him and no, Huffduffer does not (yet) support ?t= or other media fragment formats on podcast permalinks
[tantek]Indieweb is a very high result for Google search for media fragment standard, and much more useful than the web spec which has PAGES of long paragraph prose before anything useful 🤦♂️
[sebsel]I was about to send an old blogpost about it, but it turns out that only describes the Micropub part, which I broke in the conversion from TikTokBot (not related) to Telegram
