#Tdave365Hi I consider myself a longtime advocate for the classical world wide web as "social media". It's exciting to find this site. I am still reviewing it but I guess in the spirit of sharing URLs, mine is https://www.dwghoster.com/davethewebguy
#[snarfed]alternatively foreverlikethis you could try converting it to eg PNG and then upload that
#[snarfed]out of curiosity, is anyone here looking forward to using Bridgy Fed to connect their web site to Bluesky?

#[Murray]I need to look into Bridgy Fed again, and consider what I ultimately want, but it's something I'd like to dabble with once I have some time. I definitely want to find a way to use Bluesky without actually having to use the site itself, and Bridgy/Bridgy Fed is top of the list for ways that I might be able to achieve that
#[snarfed]just between you two and me, and the 1200+ people here, and the public chat logs, I'm prioritizing web <=> bluesky in Bridgy Fed right now more than activitypub <=> bluesky
#starrwulfeI wholeheartedly want to be able to have a blog that talks ATProto just like it speaks ActivityPub and does Webmentions now.
#Loqi[snarfed], starrwulfe: I don't mean to be a bother, but ActivityPub, ATProto seems like a better conversation for #indieweb-dev

#foreverlikethissnared thank you for suggestion, but my svg is animated, i don't believe pngs can be animated, yes?
#Loqiforeverlikethis: gRegor left you a message 4 minutes ago: You can add yourself to https://indieweb.org/chat-names with a photo and that will show up in the chat.indieweb.org logs
#[snarfed]gRegor great! I was curious about Bridgy Fed specifically though
#gRegorI am interested in going from web direct to Bluesky
#[snarfed]it's POSSE vs federation. do you want to copy your web posts to an existing, normal Bluesky or account? or do you want your web site to "be" its own Bluesky account?
#[snarfed]Bridgy classic is the former, Fed is the latter
#gRegorI get that generally, but I've set up my bsky name as my domain already, so is that the latter?
#gRegorI guess it's probably cross-posting even then
#gRegorbsky.app is the source of all the plumbing stuff for the account
#gRegorMaybe more for dev, but I'm interested in pros/cons of each
#foreverlikethisThank you again, Mr. Morrill. All the best to all. o7
#[snarfed]using your domain as your handle is a great feature, unique to Bluesky, but yeah it's not federation. it's which service handles the plumbing, like you said
#[snarfed]pros and cons of cross-posting vs federation would be great to compile! I don't think we've done that thoroughly yet
#Loqi[snarfed]: would you mind moving this conversation (federation) to #indieweb-dev? thanks!
